Late Arjan Vekaria

Late Arjan founded Vascroft Contractors Ltd with his brother Shashi on 10th January 1977. Up until his unfortunate demise in late 2013, Arjan was our Managing Director and had overall responsibility for overseeing projects from head office as well as dealing with all aspects of construction. Like Shashi, Arjan started in the construction industry at the age of 20 and had 40 years of experience in delivering specialist projects. He held responsibility for different company functions as well as business development, marketing, and client relationship management. His Dynamic personality and his immense knowledge were invaluable and a significant driving factor that earned him recognition, by both clients and peers, as a leader in the marketplace and the community. He touched the hearts and minds of everyone he came into contact with. His tireless dedication towards community service was ‘selfless seva’ in its truest form and he was an inspiration to all.

Arjan also served as a Justice of the Peace (Magistrate) and had won various accolades such as being awarded as the Community Personality of the Year by the Home Secretary and the Minister of Justice.
