His Highness The Aga Khan, the founder and head of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), is the Shia Imami Ismaili Muslims' 49th hereditary Imam (spiritual leader). For more than 60 years, His Highness the Aga Khan has engaged in extensive development work as part of his hereditary obligations.
